Interested members of the Trust, with no previous knowledge of garden history or archival research, are trained to record gardens.
Skills in photography, sketching or map reading, or just a curiosity about local history can be developed and the delights of documentary research revealed.
Recorders have regular meetings to share their discoveries and on-going training days, at unusual sites.

Nonsuch Park has been added to the list of sites on the English Heritage Register as a result of research by SGT volunteers. A leaflet was produced for the Friends of Nonsuch to distribute to visitors to the house, containing a plan and information on historic items of interest within the walled garden.
