One of the Trust's major aims is to research and record the county's parks and gardens. Interested members of the Trust, with no previous knowledge of garden history or archival research, are trained to record gardens. Skills in photography, sketching or map reading, or just a curiosity about local history can be developed and the delights of documentary research revealed. Recorders have regular meetings to share their discoveries and on-going training days, at unusual sites. |

Nonsuch Park has been added to the list of sites on the English Heritage Register as a result of research by SGT volunteers. A leaflet was produced for the Friends of Nonsuch to distribute to visitors to the house, containing a plan and information on historic items of interest within the walled garden. |
